Pixels & Paper for August........
The inspiration pic at Pixels & Paper this month is just fabulous. I bought this background paper for the reverse side originally but was inspired to use it this side up for the challenge..........really not even sure why. I had these pics of my GD learning to knit. She was super keen, so I bought some wool and pulled out a pair of my dear Mum's knitting needles for her to learn. She was super excited to think she was knitting with Great Gran's needles. HOWEVER, learning to knit wasn't quite as easy as she thought........thinking she was going to whip up a scarf and use a whole ball of wool in half and hour lol. So I ended up knitting a bit of length onto the project for her and she felt a bit more enthusiastic to learn. She's getting there.

That background is fabulous.. and love the 2 photos.. our kids are growing up in an instant society and so when it takes time to get something done they lose interest after a while.. I hope she keeps persevering and makes a nice scarve to wear!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really lovely layout, very eye catching and such a nice documentation of a new skill being learnt. Hope she loves her scarf

Soooo clever - like a PL style scrappy page that REALLY shows off the learning to knit process....goodness! I STILL remember my Mum trying to teach me - it ended in tears!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDelightful Deb - this page is special. My Grandma taught me many years ago and I tried to teach my daughter but she just wasn't interested. You are right Lizzy C, kids today don't have the patience - it is all about instant gratification for them - aren't they in for a shock when they get to the real world!
ReplyDeleteLove the story of your LO! Thanks fro sharing! Thanks for joining us at Pixels and Paper.
ReplyDeleteGreat page Deb. I love how you've used the background paper... I've got his one and so far it's just been sitting and waiting... great idea! Fab photos and story behind them.My mum and my sisters were all great knitters... didin't happen with me! Thank you for joining in with us at P & P. It's always a pleasure to see your art. Cheers, Di
